May has finally arrived and at HundredX we can almost taste the BBQ, watermelon, and ice cream parties that summer brings!

Summer can offer SUPER easy ways to enjoy the outdoors and host incredibly engaging and impactful events for your nonprofit.   It’s time to start thinking about the best ways to raise money for your cause this summer.  HundredX has a countdown list of our top 5 favorites to get you started.

Let us know if you’re planning to try any of these with your supporters this summer – we especially love number 1!

#5 Food Truck Feedback “FriYAYs”

Do you have Foodies amongst your supporters? Food Truck Fans? Raise money AND feed your followers AND support your local economy. Food truck Feedback FriYAYs are the trifecta of #winning.

Partnering with local food trucks for a weekly summer party is a great way to boost business and boost community philanthropy.   Food truck philanthropy varies from business to business, but it can look something like the truck or trucks offering a percentage of sales from the entire event, or from specific menu items, back to the nonprofit as a donation.  Just find your Food Truck fans and supporters and invite them to the event. Double the impact by letting them know that they can also maximize their impact using their voice for good.

Ask food trucks to advertise your HundredX Causes flier on their trucks for the night. Encourage patrons to give feedback while they wait for their food and socialize after. Foodies will love Food truck Feedback FriYAYs!   Advertise “Food Truck FriYAYs and Feedback for Good” for a good cause!

#4   Outdoor Movie Nights

Outdoor Movie Nights are fan favorites with families. Warm summer nights are the perfect backdrop for hosting a local Movie Night to support your cause!  You don’t need  many supplies to turn this simple idea into a meaningful funding event for your cause.Think of fun extras like VIP seating for an extra donation, movie themed snacks (Quidditch Pretzel Broomsticks, anyone?), or a movie ticket raffle.   Don’t trust the weather where you’re at – no problem!  Partner with a local theater or drive-in option for a VIP experience!  For an easy way to add additional funds to your movie night, “charge” each moviegoer (18 or older) 15 pieces of feedback per ticket. That’s just 15 minutes of their time.

Your cause receives the funds from HundredX, and your supporters have no out of pocket cost to attend this one-of-a-kind theater!   It’s a win: win!

#3   A Tasting Event

Whether you’re tasting beer, wine, or whiskey, tasting events are a great way to get to know your donors and socialize in a relaxed environment.  Many breweries, pubs and vineyards are happy to host your event for a good cause or you can choose to host one in the comfort of your backyard.  Many local establishments offer a percentage of the revenue from your crowds’ libations to go back to your cause. If it’s an in-home event, asking for a flat donation fee to attend is the way to go.  You can always try mocktails or coffee tastings if beer and wine isn’t your style.

Affectionately called “Sip, Snack and Give Back” parties by supporters, we love a good tasting event!   These events are the PERFECT venue to have your supporters sip, socialize and share their opinions about brands and businesses.   With an evening’s worth of feedback, your cause is bound to generate significant revenue with this event!

#2   Food, Freedom and Feedback - Summer Picnics with a Purpose

Few things are more synonymous with summertime than grilling and get-togethers. Does anyone turn down an invitation to a BBQ?  Fire up the smoker and the grill. Invite your donors to a “Picnic with a Purpose” to support your cause!   You can sell tickets for meals or request food donations to cut costs. For added fun, make it a culinary competition  by inviting people to bring their best BBQ sauce or pie to your event to win a coveted first place ribbon.  Add some lawn games, and some local entertainment, the ability to give without spending with HundredX Causes and you’ve got yourself a must-attend summer event.  Feedback equals impact and impact equals freedom.

Invite attendees to sign up and provide feedback before arriving at the event.  Offer raffle prizes for feedback providers and create a “Feedback Lounge” with cooling fans, comfy seats and beverages where supporters can give feedback in the shade to support your cause without spending a cent.

Sure, lattes, mochaccinos, and cappuccinos are pricey, but they taste delicious. For many consumers, the great taste of coffee shop coffee made it worth the cost. But customers at Starbucks aren't so sure the tradeoff is worth it anymore. Examining more than 420,000 pieces of feedback across the Quick, Fast, Casual (QFC) industry, including over 21,000 on Starbucks, we find: Starbuck's Purchase Intent 1,2 is down 3% over the past six months, with most of that dip occurring over the past few months. By contrast, Dunkin' Donuts has remained within a tight range over the past six months, as did an average of other, smaller coffee chains. Customers increasingly see less value in Starbucks. Starbuck's Value perception 3 fell 5% over the past six months, compared to just 1% for Dunkin' Donuts. However, it also fell 5% for the average of the smaller coffee chains. Coffee drinkers feel significantly unhappier about Starbuck's quality and taste. Starbuck's Taste perception fell 4% over the past six months, while rising 1% for competitors. Likewise, its Quality perception dipped 3% over the same time period (and 8% over the year). Ultimately, Starbuck's perceived drop in taste is leading inflation-weary consumers to say they plan to spend less at the coffee chain, as the value just isn't as good.

Ozempic once dominated the headlines, but GLP-1 competitor Mounjaro is winning over customers. GLP-1 drugs, used for treating diabetes and aiding in weight loss, are relatively new on the market yet have surged in popularity over the last year. They're becoming so popular that J.P. Morgan estimates that 30 million people in the US may be using a GLP-1 drug by 2030. This statistic presents a significant potential for early drug creator Novo Nordisk (Ozempic, Wegovy), and perhaps an even bigger one for Eli Lilly (Mounjaro, Zepbound). HundredX data indicates Eli Lilly is in a position to win over Novo Nordisk as Mounjaro's Usage Intent widens against the competition. Ozempic may have name recognition, but customers feel more positively about Mounjaro's effectiveness and lifestyle impact, even if they aren't excited about its high price. Examining 1,500 pieces of customer feedback across Mounjaro, Ozempic, and Wegovy, we find: GLP-1 users increasingly say they plan to use Mounjaro more, and Ozempic less . Mounjaro’s Usage Intent is up 19% since July, Wegovy’s is up 3%, and Ozempic has stayed within a tight range. Customers feel Mounjaro is more effective than competing drugs, but it’s harder to get . Mounjaro outperforms other GLP-1 drugs in effectiveness, lifestyle impact, and side effects. However, customers dislike its cost and availably more than competitors.
